About the Collection:
Inspired by George Orwell’s 1984, this debut clothing collection by the Deixis team features 4 pieces: 2 shirts, 1 bag, and a work of literature, “The Deixis Manifesto”.
With the global political climate in mind — extreme polarity, genocide, oppression, mass surveillance, lack of freedoms, skewed morality, and many negative realities — we pulled from the dystopian work by Orwell which so closely resembles our current day and age. In doing so, we forged this collection that shines a light on our current state, while also speaking to how humanity can get back on a course towards ease, connectedness, and restored morality.
We worked hard on this for some time, and are excited to bring this to everyone supporting our work. We are confident that it will bring some level of benefit as it has us while we’ve crafted it, and appreciate everyone who supports this debut collection.

On Deixis
If you’ve been subscribed to The Deixis Newsletter for some time you will know we’ve been on a hiatus this past summer. The reason for this varies, but primarily, it is due to a reorientation of our project, intentions, and mission.
Deixis started out as a project focused on creating literary focused works, primarily in fashion, publishing, and various forms of storytelling with talented individuals from around the world. Not to say we strayed away from the path along the way, as is the case with idea-driven minds, rather we found ourselves experimenting in realms that were fun and intriguing, but not exactly serving the initial purpose of the project. It is with that in mind, that we have taken a step back to bring forth this project, “FACECRIME”, as something of a new awakening, intent on establishing that original plan and sticking to it.
The Deixis Newsletter will continue on, insha’Allah, but with a more interview-focused approach. Instead of a weekly newsletter, we will aim for a monthly letter, with a new interview, collaborative work, and tangible item to take home for everyone in our audience. We hope this will ensue in the coming months, and look forward to bringing it to life.
Deixis Journal will continue as well but may be a bit delayed as publishing is a challenge in its own right, as we are working hard at perfecting our process of printing, funding, and distributing.
The films shall continue as well, for that was a part of the trifecta of our original brand intention. Therefore, we hope to create more short-form, contemporary works that tell interesting stories with timely messaging.
The main goal from the beginning has simply been, to establish a brand focused on literature, reading, learning, and information exchange from many scopes. That is why Deixis is our name. It represents that which is always changing, revolving around one core idea, but always altering with the world.
We hope you enjoy this project, and its products, and look forward to actualizing more of our ideas with your incredible support.
Deixis Forever,
Bilal Bikile
