Bilal Mohamed poses some questions to Luke Lace over a long, hilarious, and mystical FaceTime call on the evening of July 26, 2023.
The Q&A below is only a small portion of the conversation that took place… Enjoy.

What’s the recipe for a great day?
“A good day starts with the night before.”
Check off the boxes on my notion habit tracker.
Attitude is everything.
“Say I’m going to have a good day, then it fu*kin’ happens.”
Morning Routine?
Lock away my phone
Drink water
Make my bed
Stretch
What video game are you playing right now?
“I was playing Tears of the Kingdom, but then it took over my life. I had to update my armor and it was a grind so I thought, I should be grinding on something else and put it down.”
Currently watching / Recently watched?
Inherent Vice in 70mm
Attack on Titan
One Piece

What do you think of people who smoke weed?
“I started smoking weed again… but in very little quantities.”
Current food fads or diets?
“I’ve been intermittent fasting and I have been liking it. I feel like since my parents are immigrants and they didn’t have a lot of food, they naturally did that, but of course here in America the quantity of food they eat is much more. It’s just about eating within your means.”
What midpoint of a film stands out to you?
“Daniel Kwan said, ‘The midpoint of a film is when the film reveals itself to you.’”
Luke’s pick - the midpoint of The Triangle of Sadness.
“The film is mainly shot on tripod sticks. The midpoint of the movie is the very first time there is movement and the camera starts to shift. From then on it’s all on sticks but the roles reverse and shift. From a visual storytelling standpoint, it’s genius.”
You got anything against nepotism?
“The only time nepotism isn’t cool is when a nepo baby doesn’t make good work. Like you had ALL the access, why do you not have BARS?”
What are your thoughts on Aliens?
“SCARY. It’s not aliens that scare me but the greed of human beings. Like we’ve had access to spacecrafts since the 40s and alien technology, but won’t use it because it’ll mess up the macroeconomics of the world. It’s the same way we could feed all the humans in the world but choose not to.”
Do Filipinos practice magic?
“Funny you say that. My parents are from the epicenter of witchcraft in the Philippines.”
Thoughts on intuition?
“You learn from it but you already knew. I spent a lot of my life trying to understand it, but it already tells you so much so quickly.”
Last words?
“If you can’t find love for the people here, how you gon’ find love for the world out there?”
